Novonix to Supply Synthetic Graphite to Stellantis

Australian battery manufacturer Novonix has signed a binding purchase agreement with Stellantis to supply high-performance synthetic graphite materials for its cell production partners in North America. Announced on Monday, the agreement includes the delivery of between 86,250 and 115,000 metric tons of synthetic graphite from Novonix's Riverside facility in Chattanooga, Tennessee, from 2026 to 2031.

The agreement supports Stellantis's cell production operations in North America and represents a significant commitment to Novonix's production capacities. Novonix CEO Chris Burns expressed the importance of the contract, stating, "This contract allocates the remaining volumes of our existing capacity at our Riverside facility and some of the volumes to be produced at our planned new facility."

Additionally, Novonix is progressing in the development of a new production facility in the southeastern United States. This facility is expected to start with an annual production capacity of 30,000 metric tons and scale up to 75,000 metric tons. The expansion is part of Novonix's strategy to meet the rising demand for critical battery materials in the electric vehicle industry.

The partnership with Stellantis marks a significant milestone for Novonix in reinforcing its position as a key supplier in the battery materials market. Supply is planned to commence in 2026, aligning with the anticipated growth of the electric vehicle and energy storage sectors.
