Foreks - GSFM strategist Stephen Miller stated that Donald Trump is fulfilling his promise to impose new tariffs on China, Mexico, and Canada early next year. Miller noted, however, that this presents strange inflationary signals for the U.S. and could worsen with the appointment of a politically compliant Fed chair. He mentioned that the bond markets might have calmed slightly with Bessent's appointment as Treasury Secretary, but they could become uneasy with aggressive tariff actions and could be further unsettled by a "shadow" Fed chair.
