Beşiktaş President Hasan Arat Resigns

The crisis of resignations and changes of position that began after the negative results at Beşiktaş Gymnastics Club is deepening. The club’s president, Hasan Arat, announced that he has resigned from both the chairmanship and membership of the board. In his resignation statement, Arat used striking expressions and revealed who the new leaders of Beşiktaş Football Inc. (BJKAS) are.

While announcing his resignation, Hasan Arat stated:

"We announced the separation decisions. We had to make many decisions. We experienced dramatic difficulties; our supporters are sad. There comes a day when you part ways. Genuine upheavals are better than false balances."

Arat also announced the new management team at Football Inc., appointing Hüseyin Yücel, Mete Vardar, Onur Göçmez, and Feyyaz Uçar as the persons responsible for the club’s future football operations.

Hüseyin Yücel has become the new president. Beşiktaş Football Investments Inc. convened today to make important decisions. In the meeting, it was unanimously decided to appoint Hüseyin Yücel as the chairman of the board to replace the resigning Hasan Arat. This change led to the decision that Beşiktaş Gymnastics Club Vice Presidents Mete Vardar and Onur Göçmez, along with Board Member Feyyaz Uçar, would also share the responsibilities for the professional football team.

It was stated in the notice to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) that the appointment of Hüseyin Yücel to the vacant chairmanship position following Arat’s resignation would be submitted for the approval of the general assembly at the first general assembly meeting. This step can be seen as a strategy that may help the club overcome the management crisis during its difficult times.

Many people have resigned. The poor results have shaken the club, and the successive dismissals and resignations have drawn attention to Beşiktaş. The termination of the team’s General Coordinator Samet Aybaba and Board Advisor Bradley Howard Friedel created a domino effect. Following these developments, Vice President Onur Göçmez and board member Işıl Zeybek also resigned; however, Göçmez’s resignation was not accepted, and he continued in his position. It was also announced that the Media and Communication Group Coordinator Okay Karacan has parted ways with the club.
