Kariyer.net: The Aviation Sector Takes Flight in the Employment Market

During this period, the sectors with the highest number of job postings were Construction, Manufacturing, and Textiles. The Aviation sector stood out with an increase in both the number of postings and significant interest from candidates. Kariyer.net also analyzed the most sought-after skills by employers, revealing competency trends in the labor market.
Turkey's largest online employment platform, Kariyer.net, released the third quarter data for the employment market. Compared to the same period last year, the sector with the highest increase in job postings was Telecommunications.
Telecommunications Job Postings Soared In the third quarter of 2024, Telecommunications job postings increased by 34% compared to the same period last year. The interest from candidates in Telecommunications job postings saw a rise similar to the increase in number of postings. In the Telecommunications sector, which ranked third among the sectors attracting the most interest from candidates, the number of applications per job posting rose by 31%.
Both Job Postings and Applications for Aviation Positions are Increasing The Aviation sector was one of the most notable sectors in the third quarter of 2024. Job postings for Aviation positions increased by 22% compared to the same period last year. Additionally, the Aviation sector ranked at the top among the sectors that saw the greatest increase in candidate interest. The application rate per job posting for Aviation roles increased by 43% compared to the third quarter of the previous year.
Data Management and Programming Skills Entered the Trend for White-Collar Positions Kariyer.net also analyzed the most needed skills by employers over the last six months alongside employment index data. According to an analysis of over 1 million candidates based on 7,000 unique skills, proficiency in MS Office was the most sought-after skill in white-collar job postings. This was followed by Reporting, Communication, Analytical Thinking, and English proficiency.
Emerging and increasing skills demanded in white-collar job postings included Data Management as well as Software and Programming. Under Data Management, skills like Data Warehouse Management and ETL Process Management caught attention. In Software and Programming, the ability to develop plugins was the most sought-after criterion. Among trending skills in the field of artificial intelligence, Data Analytics topped the list, followed by machine learning, deep learning, and automation.

The figures particularly highlighted in the fields of telecommunications and aviation can be seen as notable examples in this regard. I hope that uncertainties in the economy will decrease in the upcoming period, and that mobility in the labor market will further increase.” Speaking about talent analysis, Fatih Uysal added, “We see that the talent needs of employers are also transforming. Research we conducted on the occasion of our 25th anniversary indicated this change. Our recent analysis shows that new criteria have been added to job postings. It is possible to say that skills related to data management and artificial intelligence will become increasingly valuable in white-collar positions in the near future.”
