MARKET OUTLOOK - The US Dollar Rises on Low Trading Volume

Forex - Pepperstone strategist Michael Brown stated that the dollar has risen, as the Thanksgiving holiday in the U.S. is likely to result in reduced liquidity and lower volumes.

"Given the likely weak conditions and limited economic data today, it is a good day to kick back and indulge in chosen entertainment," Brown remarked, adding that unless there is unexpected news, stagnant trading is expected to continue until the weekend.

The DXY dollar index increased by 0.3%, rising to 106.373. The DXY had dipped to 105.856, its lowest level in two weeks, on Wednesday, as investors rebalanced their portfolios ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday and as U.S. data raised expectations that the Federal Reserve may cut rates in December.
