In a recent statement regarding the increased circulation of counterfeit banknotes in the market, the TBB stated: "In order to combat counterfeit currency and prevent its circulation, necessary controls and updates on currency counting, counterfeit currency checks, and ATM machines are being carried out. The banking sector is working diligently in close cooperation with relevant public institutions to ensure that economic activity continues in a healthy and uninterrupted manner, to protect the rights and interests of customers, and to complete the necessary efforts for effective combat against counterfeit currency in a timely manner."
