U.S. Railroad Traffic Volume Declines by 13.8%

Foreks - The total volume of rail transportation in the U.S. showed a decrease of 13.8% for the week ending November 30 compared to the same week last year. According to data released by the Association of American Railroads (AAR), total rail freight transportation amounted to 439,362 cars. Carload freight transportation saw a decline of 19.9%, totaling 189,746 cars, while intermodal freight transportation decreased by 8.5%, reaching 249,616 cars. In the same week, the amount of coal transported by rail in the U.S. fell by 23.7%, totaling 52,126 cars.
