The Minister of Treasury and Finance, Mehmet Şimşek, stated that allowing competitive advantages through tax evasion will not be tolerated and that fairness in taxation will be further strengthened. In his statement regarding the news of "increased scrutiny on sectors and firms with a high tendency for cartelization," shared via his X account, Minister Şimşek said, "We are increasing our inspections on businesses that abuse their dominant market power and have inconsistencies between their profits and tax declarations. We will not allow competitive advantages through tax evasion; we will further enhance fairness in taxation."
