EU Commission to Propose New Sanctions Against Russia's Shadow Fleet

The European Commission has announced that it will propose new sanctions targeting Russia's shadow fleet. Earlier today, Finnish authorities seized a ship transporting Russian oil in the Baltic Sea on suspicion of damaging the underwater electrical cable connecting Finland and Estonia. "The suspected vessel is part of the shadow fleet that threatens security and the environment while financing Russia's war budget. We will propose additional measures, including sanctions, to target this fleet," they stated.
