338.5 million liras of "capacity" support for power plants
Turkish Electricity Transmission Inc. (TEİAŞ) will make capacity payments of approximately 338.5 million liras to 44 electricity generation plants for December 2022. The list of payments to be made to generation facilities benefiting from the capacity mechanism was published on TEİAŞ's website. Accordingly, a total of 338 million 444 thousand 633 liras will be paid to 44 of the 51 power plants within the scope of the mechanism for December 2022. The highest payment will be made to Gebze Electricity Production Limited Company with 31 million 212 thousand 837 liras. This company will be followed by Hamitabat Electricity Production and Trade Inc. with a payment of 25 million 220 thousand 486 liras. The power plants to which payments will be made include 14 domestic coal-fired thermal power plants, 4 domestic and imported coal-fired thermal power plants, 16 natural gas-fired power plants, and 10 hydroelectric power plants. Within the scope of the capacity mechanism, TEİAŞ makes capacity payments to power plants in order to ensure sustainability and security of supply in electricity.
