Despite Geopolitical Changes, Elon Musk's Starlink Remains the Best Option: DB

According to Deutsche Bank's latest analysis, geopolitical developments are driving significant changes in the satellite communication (satcom) sector, with Starlink maintaining its leading position. These changes may attract increased interest from competitors and suppliers in the sector, alongside emerging alternatives to Starlink.

Operated by SpaceX, Starlink is being extensively utilized in Ukraine, with estimates suggesting more than 70,000 active terminals, a significant increase from the 42,000 reported by the Ukrainian government in 2023. Poland has provided over 24,000 terminals since the start of the war, with an additional 5,000 expected, amounting to an annual commitment of approximately $50 million. In contrast, OneWeb has only a few thousand active terminals in Ukraine, indicating a need for more financial and logistical support for companies like Eutelsat to expand their presence. As the market evolves, all eyes will be on how Starlink and its competitors adapt to new geopolitical realities.
