Tesla Partners with Baidu to Enhance ADAS Performance in China

Tesla is partnering with Chinese tech giant Baidu to enhance the performance of its Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) in China, following recent customer critiques regarding system updates. In recent weeks, a team of engineers from Baidu's mapping division has been sent to Tesla's Beijing office to improve the integration of Baidu's navigation map data, including lane markings and traffic light signals, with Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) Version 13 software.

The financial details of this collaboration remain undisclosed. This deepening relationship comes as Tesla faces challenges with data and regulatory restrictions imposed by Beijing and Washington, complicating its efforts to launch full Autopilot and FSD systems in its second-largest market. While Baidu's U.S. stocks rose nearly 2%, Tesla shares dropped about 1% in pre-market trading after gaining roughly 12% in the last two sessions.
