U.S. weekly coal production has declined.
Foreks - After a three-week decline in U.S. coal production, a significant drop occurred last week. According to data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), coal production for the week ending March 8 fell by 3.2%, reaching 10.3 million tons, down from 10.6 million tons the previous week.
On a year-over-year basis, coal production showed an increase of 5.1%. Production east of the Mississippi River was 4.9 million tons, while west of the river it reached 5.4 million tons. Since the beginning of the year, production has decreased by 4.9%, totaling 94.5 million tons.
