In February, emerging markets witnessed a significant increase in foreign investments, with approximately $16 billion added to portfolios. According to a recent report from a financial trading group, investors showed particular interest in Chinese stocks and debt instruments from emerging economies.

Chinese stocks attracted a notable investment of $11.2 billion. However, due to sales in other regions, emerging market equity portfolios experienced a net outflow of $2.1 billion last month. Conversely, the situation was different in fixed-income securities; while Chinese bonds recorded an outflow of $15.1 billion, other emerging market debt instruments saw an accumulation of $33.2 billion. According to the Institute of International Finance (IIF), the total net inflow into emerging market portfolios in February was $15.9 billion, lower than January's $21.2 billion and February 2024's $27.8 billion.
