MARKET OUTLOOK - Investors may remain cautious regarding the Turkish lira.
Frantisek Taborsky from ING stated that investors may remain cautious about the Turkish lira, even after the Central Bank of Turkey unexpectedly raised the overnight lending rate on Thursday. This decision helped stabilize the lira following a wave of sell-offs on Wednesday after the arrest of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's rival, Ekrem İmamoğlu.
Taborsky emphasized that the Central Bank will do everything possible to maintain market stability, noting, "The behavior of local participants and local currency conversions will guide the Central Bank's next steps. The lira looks attractive at least in the short term, but the market will still be hesitant about taking on more risks."
