MARKET OVERVIEW - The BoE may cut interest rates in May, but it's not certain.
Foreks - According to Moyeen Islam from Barclays, it is likely that the Bank of England will lower interest rates at its next meeting in May, although this is not certain. Islam noted that the BOE is facing weak growth and rising inflation, making it challenging to bring inflation down to the 2% medium-term target.
According to LSEG data, markets are pricing a 46% chance of an interest rate cut by the BOE in May. Islam mentioned that if the BOE does not change interest rates in May, markets could begin to question the committee's appetite for further cuts this year.
