The investigation into enterprises operating in the power transformer sector has concluded.
The investigation results concerning businesses operating in the power transformer sector have been concluded. According to the announcement by the Competition Authority, the inquiry was conducted to determine whether certain companies involved in power and distribution transformers, as well as cell and concrete kiosk sectors, violated Article 4 of the Law No. 4054 on the Protection of Competition. The investigation was based on decisions dated July 13, 2023, September 28, 2023, and May 9, 2024.
During the meeting on March 13, 2025, the Authority imposed administrative fines on several companies for collusion in sales and price coordination. SEM Transformatör AŞ applied for reconciliation, acknowledging the violation, resulting in a reduced fine of 42,379,948.55 TL. Other companies, including Astor Enerji AŞ and EFG Elektrik Enerji AŞ, also faced significant fines, while some entities were exempted from penalties. The investigation highlighted the critical role of transformers in voltage conversion and energy distribution safety.
