Oil transported through pipelines in Turkey decreased by 12.2% in February.
The amount of crude oil transported through pipelines in Turkey decreased by 12.2% in February compared to the previous month. According to data from BOTAŞ's website, oil flow from five pipelines in February reached 23 million 966 thousand barrels, down from 27 million 306 thousand barrels in January.
There are five crude oil pipelines in Turkey: Iraq-Turkey, Ceyhan-Kırıkkale, Batman-Dörtyol, Dörtyol-Ceylan, and BTC. However, oil flow from the Iraq-Turkey pipeline has not occurred for nearly three years. Starting in December 2024, Gabar oil will begin to be transported from this line. The amount of oil from BTC decreased from 17 million 571 thousand barrels in January to 16 million 47 thousand barrels in February. Additionally, 2 million 492 thousand barrels were transported from the Ceyhan-Kırıkkale line, 1 million 600 thousand barrels from the Batman-Dörtyol line, and 1 million 742 thousand barrels from the Dörtyol-Ceyhan line, while Gabar oil transported via the Iraq-Turkey line was reported at 2 million 85 thousand barrels.
