The foreign trade deficit reached 7.8 billion dollars in February.

According to the preliminary foreign trade data for February 2025, prepared in collaboration with the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) and the Ministry of Trade, the foreign trade deficit increased by 14.8% compared to the same month last year, reaching $7.771 billion. During this period, exports decreased by 1.6% to $20.761 billion, while imports rose by 2.4% to $28.533 billion.

In the first two months of the year, exports amounted to $41.921 billion, marking a 2% increase year-on-year, while imports rose by 5.9% to $57.235 billion, leading to a foreign trade deficit of $15.314 billion, an 18.2% increase from the previous year. Excluding energy and non-monetary gold, the trade balance showed a more balanced picture with a deficit of $1.209 billion.
