Official reserve assets decreased by 4.7% in one week.
Foreks - Official reserve assets decreased by 4.7% to $163.1 billion in the week of March 21 compared to the previous week. According to the Central Bank of Turkey (TCMB), foreign currency assets dropped by 9.8% to $80.8 billion, while gold reserves increased by 1.0% to $74.8 billion. The total IMF reserve position and SDR decreased by 0.03% to $7.5 billion.
The announcement included the following details: "The public sector's (Central Bank and Central Administration) short-term foreign currency liabilities affecting liquidity increased by 0.01% to $100.2 billion compared to the previous week. Pre-determined foreign currency liabilities rose by 1.5% to $49.4 billion, while contingent foreign currency liabilities fell by 1.4% to $50.8 billion. As of this week, the Central Bank's total foreign currency swap liabilities amounted to $19.7 billion, with foreign currency receivables at $7.5 billion, resulting in net foreign currency liabilities of $12.2 billion."
