The EU is preparing a response to the new import tariffs imposed by the USA.

The European Commission announced that it is preparing to respond to the new tariffs on imported vehicles, introduced by U.S. President Donald Trump. Commission spokesperson Olof Gill stated, "We have received the announcement regarding cars. We understand that a new package of measures, referred to as reciprocal tariffs by the U.S., will come into effect next week. We are saddened by all of this, but we are preparing for it."

Gill added, "I cannot provide a specific timeline for when our potential response to these yet-to-be-implemented actions will come, but I can assure you that it will be timely, robust, well-calibrated, and will create the intended impact."
