Germany suspends visa refusal appeals

According to a written statement by the German Foreign Ministry, Germany has launched a pilot application to reduce the delay in visa applications and shorten the waiting period. Accordingly, the appeal period for those whose visa applications are rejected in Turkey, China and Morocco has been suspended for 6 months. Germany has suspended the visa rejection appeal process in 3 countries, including Turkey. Problems experienced with Schengen visas have been on the agenda for a while now. According to a written statement made by the German Foreign Ministry on June 7, Germany has launched a pilot application in China, Morocco and Turkey and suspended the visa rejection appeal process. The statement expressed the increase in visa applications following the lifting of travel restrictions imposed with the pandemic and emphasized the long wait times to apply for a visa in certain places. The statement made by the Ministry stated that visa applications will be evaluated on the same legal basis as before and visas will continue to be granted to those who meet the necessary conditions. In these three countries where the appeal process has been suspended, the reasons for visa rejection will be explained to the applicant in more detail compared to the previous period. It was stated that those whose visa requests were rejected before June 1, 2023 and who wish to appeal the decision still have the right to appeal.
