Third meeting for minimum wage
The Minimum Wage Determination Commission will hold its third meeting for the interim raise at 11:00. The parties will come together for the third time for the interim raise in the minimum wage. The Minimum Wage Determination Commission will convene at 11:00 within the scope of the work to determine the interim raise rate for the minimum wage. Negotiations for the interim raise in the minimum wage had begun on June 13. In a statement made after the meeting hosted by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, Türk-İş Delegation President Veli Solak said, "There is no figure on the table. A figure suitable for living conditions, inflation, and raises should be determined." The second meeting was held on June 19. The meeting hosted by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, chaired by General Director of Labor Sadettin Akyıl, was attended by a TÜRK-İŞ delegation representing the workers and a Turkish Confederation of Employer Associations (TİSK) delegation representing the employers. The minimum wage is applied as 10,008 lira gross per month for a worker, and 8,506 lira 80 cents net after taxes and deductions. The total cost of the minimum wage to the employer is 11,759 lira 40 cents for a worker. 10,008 lira of this is the gross minimum wage, 1,551 lira 24 cents social security premium, and 200 lira 16 cents employer unemployment insurance fund.
