Cyber attack on ministries in Norway
The Norwegian government has announced that 12 ministries in the country have been subjected to cyberattacks. In a written statement, the Norwegian government said that the 12 ministries affected by the cyberattacks have no access to email or other mobile services due to security measures taken. Minister of Local Government and Regional Development Sigbjorn Gjelsvik said in a press statement that they are taking the cyberattacks “seriously.” Gjelsvik reported that the Norwegian Government’s Security and Services Department (DSS) is closely monitoring the situation and is taking precautions. DSS Director Erik Hope noted that it is “too early to talk about who is behind the attack and its extent.” There have been cyberattacks against the Norwegian government before.
