While automobile sales in July increased by 13 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 41,031 units, the light commercial vehicle market decreased by 3.1 percent to 11,175 units. The automobile and light commercial vehicle market decreased by 16.4 percent compared to the 10-year average sales in July. The automobile market decreased by 14.9 percent compared to the 10-year average July sales. The light commercial vehicle market decreased by 21.4 percent compared to the 10-year average July sales. Annualized sales settled around 700 thousand. Looking at the January-July period, the automobile and light commercial vehicle market decreased by 7.3 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 410 thousand 110 units. Automobile sales decreased by 7.9 percent in the January-July period of 2022 compared to the previous year, reaching 319 thousand 313 units, while the light commercial vehicle market decreased by 5.3 percent, reaching 90 thousand 797 units. Looking at annualized sales, it was seen that the trend around the 700 thousand unit level continued as of July.
