Headline: Which Stocks Stood Out on the Istanbul Stock Exchange Today?
The BIST 100 index moved predominantly towards sellers on the first trading day of the week. After starting the day flat, the BIST 100 continued its decline from the last trading day of the previous week throughout the day. The index is moving in the range of 8,660 points with a pullback of nearly 1.5% in the last hour. The sales were mainly centered around BIST 30 stocks, while the index outside the BIST 100 also experienced a decline of 1% towards the close.
Towards the end of the day on Borsa Istanbul, the sectors that remained in the positive were transportation, communication, and tourism. The sectors that saw the most decline today included sports, construction, and trade. Banks experienced a decline of around 2% and were among the sectors pulling the index down. Across Borsa Istanbul today, along with YEOTK, DZGYO and BFREN were the top gainers. Towards the close, TUREX, MRSHL, and ARTMS shares were among the biggest losers.
In the domestic foreign exchange market, the dollar/TL remained flat at 34.26, while the euro/TL moved at 37.17 with a 0.25% decrease. Gold continued to renew its record, trading at 3,009 TL with a 0.4% increase as of the last hour.
In international markets, Asian indices ended the day predominantly positive. European indices were on the decline towards the close, while among the US indices, the Nasdaq remained slightly in the positive in the first hour. The Dow Jones and S&P 500 both started the day with a decline.
