Budget balance turned positive in November
The central government budget posted a surplus in November after two months. The budget posted a surplus of 108.3 billion TL in November and a deficit of 20.45 billion TL in the first 11 months. While the rapid increase in tax revenues in November drew attention, no transfers were made from the budget as of November within the scope of currency-protected deposits. The non-interest surplus in November was 132.7 billion TL. The announced data showed that the balance turned positive in November after budget deficits in September and October. It was observed that tax revenues increased in November, but there was a serious decline in interest expenditures and current transfers within expenditures. During this period, tax revenues increased to 312 billion TL due to the effect of temporary corporate tax payments. Tax revenues in October were 181.8 billion TL. According to the data announced by the ministry, interest expenditures, which were TL 61.1 billion in October, decreased to TL 24.4 billion. Current transfers, which were TL 102.9 billion in October, decreased to TL 79 billion. No transfers were made from the budget within the scope of exchange rate-protected deposits in November. Thus, the 9-month cost of exchange rate-protected deposits remained at TL 91.6 billion. No transfers were made to BOTAŞ through lending or current transfers in November. TL 121.4 billion was transferred to BOTAŞ through lending this year and TL 5 billion through current transfers. The budget is in deficit as of the January-November period When we look at the 11-month budget realizations, it is seen that the budget balance is in deficit and the non-interest balance is in positive. According to the ministry’s data, in the January-November period, central government budget expenditures were TL 2.57 trillion, budget revenues were TL 2.55 trillion, and the budget deficit was TL 20.4 billion. While non-interest budget expenditures amounted to 2.28 trillion TL, the non-interest surplus in the same period was 272.2 billion TL.
