Headline: Treasury and Finance Minister Şimşek Embarks on U.S. Tour: Set to Attend Approximately 50 Meetings Today

Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek's engagements in the United States begin today, as he will participate in approximately 50 meetings. According to information obtained, Şimşek will attend official engagements, investor meetings, and gatherings with leading U.S. think tanks as part of his U.S. meetings. Minister Şimşek is set to attend the two-day G20 meetings and participate in World Bank Development Committee meetings. He will hold bilateral meetings with U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Pakistan's Finance Minister Muhammed Aurangzeb, in addition to meetings with his counterparts on the sidelines of the G20 meetings.

Şimşek will meet with the presidents and senior management of Multilateral Development Banks. In this context, he will hold meetings with World Bank President Ajay Banga, Asian Development Bank President candidate Masato Kanda, Japan International Cooperation Agency President Nobumitsu Hayashi, Council of Europe Development Bank President Carlo Monticelli, Islamic Development Bank President Muhammad Al Jasser, and senior executives from the International Finance Corporation (IFC). Short meetings with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva and First Deputy Managing Director Gita Gopinath are also on the agenda.

Minister Şimşek will take part in investor seminars attended by leading investment banks such as BBVA, JPMorgan, BoFA, HSBC, Deutsche Bank, Standard Chartered, and Barclays where he will also deliver presentations. He will meet with leading U.S. think tanks, including delivering a detailed presentation on the Turkish economy at the Hutchins Center, one of the prominent research hubs of the Brookings Institution. Şimşek will also participate in extensive meetings with academics and economists closely following Turkey at the Atlantic Council and the Institute of International Finance, which are public events.
