Headline: BIST 100 Starts the Day on a High: Which Stocks Took the Spotlight at the Opening?

The BIST 100 started the day with a 0.27% increase at 8,677.75 points.

Following a positive opening, the BIST 100 index maintained its upward momentum in early trading, reaching 8,700 points with a half-point gain. Previously, the index had closed at 8,654.39 points with a 1.58% decline. Yesterday, 25 stocks rose while 75 stocks declined within the BIST 100. The daily trading volume for the index was approximately 61.4 billion TL, accounting for 74.2% of the total volume.

Among the sectors that opened with gains on the Borsa Istanbul were electricity, communication, and insurance. No sectors experienced declines following the positive opening, although banking, technology, and metal sectors recorded the smallest increases. The top-performing stocks in the BIST 100 at the start of the day were:

• ALFAS
• CWENE
• GESAN
• EUPWR

On the other hand, the stocks starting the day with declines included:

• VAKBN
• KRDMD
• KONYA
• OTKAR
• GUBRF

Across Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 stocks SMRTG, ALFAS, and CWENE hit their price ceilings at the opening, being the top gainers. In early trading, shares of DIRIT, EKIZ, and MARKA were observed as the top decliners.

In the domestic currency market, the USD/TRY pair is trading flat at 34.25. EUR/TRY was up marginally by 0.15% at 37.13 in the morning, while the gold gram price increased by 0.6% to 3,011 TL.

In international markets, Chinese indices prepared to close the day in positive territory, whereas the rest of Asia saw declines. European indices started the day on a mixed note. Among U.S. indices, the Nasdaq stood out positively yesterday, while futures were trending negatively in the morning hours.
