"Green Light for BİM: Positive Environmental Impact Assessment for Solar Power Project"

BİM's planned solar energy project, BİM GES, has received a 'Positive Environmental Impact Assessment' decision. According to a statement from the Environmental Impact Assessment Permit and Inspection General Directorate's website, the following details were provided:

The proposed BİM Solar Power Plant (17 MWm/12.31 MWe/17MWp 17.04 ha) in Hınıs, Erzurum, is set to be developed by BİM Birleşik Mağazalar Anonim Şirketi. The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report submitted to the Ministry was reviewed and evaluated by the Assessment Commission. In accordance with Article 14 of the EIA Regulation, taking into account the commission's studies and public feedback, the Ministry has issued a 'Positive Environmental Impact Assessment' decision. The Erzurum Governorate (Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change) must announce this decision to the public. The final EIA report and its annexes, along with adherence to the relevant provisions of the regulations enacted under the Environmental Law No. 2872, must be followed. Additionally, necessary permits from relevant authorities must be obtained under the applicable legislation.
