Turkey and the Republic of Niger signed a "Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Mining Sector." The Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar, met with Niger's Minister of Mines, Colonel Abarchi Ousmane, in Istanbul. Following their meeting, Bayraktar and Ousmane signed the memorandum aimed at fostering collaboration in mining. Bayraktar stated on his social media account, "With this agreement, we aim for our public and private sector companies to operate in Niger's mining sector and develop collaborations related to the exploration and operation of mineral resources in certain areas. I hope this agreement, which will support the development of both countries through their mining sectors, will be beneficial for our nations."
