Intriguing Decision: Georgia's Central Bank Holds Interest Rate Steady

The National Bank of Georgia (NBG) decided to keep its policy rate unchanged for the fourth consecutive meeting. According to the statement from the NBG, the benchmark interest rate remained at 8.00%. The NBG last cut the rate by 25 basis points in May and opted to hold steady in subsequent meetings. In September, consumer prices in Georgia fell to an annual rate of 0.6%.
