RENEWAL - Atakey Achieves 30% Growth with 50,000 Tons of Production in the First Nine Months of 2024
Foreks - Atakey, which supplies products to over 3,200 quick service restaurants under the TFI Tab Gıda Investments umbrella and maintains its leading position in the industry as one of the largest frozen potato producers in the world, announced that its strong operational performance has continued in the first nine months of 2024.
Commenting on the announced nine-month results, Atakey's Executive Board Chairman Ahmet Özgül stated, "As Turkey's leading frozen potato producer and one of Europe's major processors, we are pleased to report that our operational activities are progressing well, with growth achieved in both production and sales during the period. By harvesting 127,000 tons of raw potatoes for the new season, we have reached strong stock levels that will support our production plans in the upcoming period. Additionally, our production line, established for the launch of our new products, is ready."
Ahmet Özgül expressed that they would begin producing coated onion rings and cheese sticks in the fourth quarter, stating, "We have started onion harvesting for our production line, continuing to diversify our product range and enhance our production capabilities."
Strong production growth and high sales volumes Highlighting the increase in production over the last nine months, Ahmet Özgül noted, "We achieved a 30% growth by increasing our production from 38,000 tons in 2023 to 50,000 tons in 2024. During the same period, we also made progress in sales, achieving a total of 47,000 tons sold in the first nine months, marking a 5% increase compared to the same period last year. This consistent performance indicates that we have further strengthened our strong market position."
"Our third-party sales' share of total sales reached 24%" In light of the challenging macroeconomic conditions, Ahmet Özgül mentioned their proactive approach to creating new sales opportunities and diversifying their sales strategies, stating, "Thanks to this focus, our third-party retail sales increased by 39% compared to last year, reaching 12,000 tons, while its share of total sales grew by 6 points to 24%. This growth is a result of our efforts to diversify our sales strategies and strengthen our channel structure. While maintaining our robust collaboration with our main customer, TAB Gıda, increasing our exports and third-party sales is our strategic priority."
