Elitaş: The cost of additional raise for retirees and civil servants is 260 billion TL

AK Party Group Deputy Chairman Mustafa Elitaş said that the annual cost of welfare share increases to be made in pensions and civil servants is 260 billion TL. Making a presentation to the Planning and Budget Committee on the impact analysis of the proposed law regarding pension and civil servant salary increases, Elitaş said that the annual cost of increasing the lowest pension to 5,500 TL is calculated as 21.9 billion TL. According to the information provided by Elitaş, 1.7 million workplaces will also benefit from the 400 TL minimum wage support to be given to employers per worker. This practice will also create a cost of 17.1 billion TL. Civil servants and civil servant retirees would receive approximately 16.5 percent increase with the inflation difference and collective agreement increase, while SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees would receive a 15.5 percent increase. The government combined these rates and first announced it as 25 percent under the name of “welfare share” and then increased it to 30 percent.
