TEPAV: Food Prices Increased by 3.39% in November

According to the Food Price Index (TEGE) data announced by the Turkey Economic Policy Research Foundation (TEPAV), the monthly food inflation rate for the period of November 1-30, 2024, was calculated at 3.39%. The November 2024 data for the TEPAV Food Price Index has been released.

In November, the products that saw the largest price decreases in the fresh fruit and vegetable category were lemon, pear, and potato, while significant price increases were observed in red cabbage, cabbage, and eggplant. In categories other than fresh fruits and vegetables, the highest price increases were seen in cocoa powder beverages, eggs, and dried grapes, whereas price decreases were recorded for Turkish delight, kashar cheese, and peanuts.

As of December 2, 2024, for the period of November 1-30, 2024, food inflation calculated by other institutions was reported as 0.64% for Türk-İş kitchen inflation and 3.28% for the ITO Living Index (ÜGE). Data from TÜİK, CEFIS, and ENAG have not yet been released.

As of November 2024, annual food inflation was calculated at 45.66% with TEGE, 46.01% with Türk-İş kitchen inflation, and 52.61% with ITO-ÜGE. Cumulative food inflation since the beginning of the year was calculated at 36.61% with TEGE, 41.9% with Türk-İş kitchen inflation, and 45.49% with ITO-ÜGE.
