Japan's agricultural, forest and seafood exports rise
Japan's agricultural, forest and marine product exports in 2022 increased to 1.4 trillion yen. The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries announced Japan's January-December 2022 export data. According to the data, the rate increased by 14.3 percent compared to the previous year. Japan's 12-month agricultural, forest and marine product exports were recorded as 1.4 trillion yen (approximately $10.9 billion). Japan's exports in these areas reached their highest level ever. It was emphasized that the export rate has continued to rise for the last 10 years. The normalization of the economy with the easing of overseas Covid-19 pandemic restrictions and the depreciation of the Japanese yen during the year were effective in this. Agricultural products stood out with 887 billion yen, fishery products with 387.3 billion yen, and forestry products with 63.8 billion yen. China was at the top of the list in export destinations. Japan's exports to China in these areas increased by 25.2 percent to 278.3 billion yen. The Japanese government aims for annual exports of 2 trillion yen in 2025 and 5 trillion yen in 2030.
