Additional time for tax and export credits in earthquake zones
The period for tax, duty, fee exemption documents/undocumented export credits in earthquake zones has been extended until the end of the year. The relevant Communiqué of the Ministry of Trade was published in the Official Gazette. Accordingly, with the temporary article added to the said Communiqué, due to the earthquakes that occurred in Kahramanmaraş province on February 6, 2023, the periods for benefiting from the exemption of tax, duty, fee exemption documents issued before the effective date of this article and whose export commitment accounts have not yet been closed, of the companies whose headquarters or production facilities are located in Adıyaman, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Malatya provinces and whose tax, duty, fee exemption certificate/undocumented export credit expired before December 31, 2023, have been extended until December 31, 2023 (inclusive) by granting an additional period by the Ministry upon the application of the companies to the Ministry for tax, duty, fee exemption certificates issued electronically, and for tax, duty, fee exemption certificates issued physically by the relevant bank ex officio for undocumented export credits, without prejudice to the other additional period rights regulated by this Communiqué. In addition, companies that have tax, duty and fee exemption certificates that prove that they carry out the activity subject to the exemption in the said provinces, even though their headquarters or production facilities are not in Adıyaman, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş and Malatya provinces, will be able to benefit from the additional time opportunity specified in the first paragraph, provided that they apply to the Ministry by 31 December 2023 and meet the other conditions regulated in the first paragraph.
