BOTAŞ: Work has begun on leakage on Batman-Dörtyol line
Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (BOTAŞ) announced that work has begun to fix the leak that occurred in the Batman-Dörtyol crude oil pipeline. In a statement made by Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (BOTAŞ), it was stated that, "A leak occurred on the night of March 22, 2023, approximately 507th kilometer of the Batman-Dörtyol crude oil pipeline. Our BOTAŞ emergency response teams were dispatched to the scene and our teams took the necessary environmental measures and immediately started intervention work." It was noted that the oil pipeline will be put into operation as soon as possible after the completion of the work. It was noted in the post that both valves were closed after it was determined that the oil leak was between the Mirzabey and Balpınar valves, and that "BOTAŞ, Batman Municipality, Provincial Special Administration, DSI and AFAD teams are working to collect and dispose of the remaining oil in the pipeline in a pool on land. At the same time, work has been started to clean up the oil leaking into the Batman Stream."
