Drone attacks from Russia on Ukraine's capital Kyiv: Many people were injured.

The Ukrainian Air Force announced that it shot down 56 out of 88 drones launched by Russia overnight.

It was reported that Russia carried out a large drone attack early Saturday morning, causing damage to numerous buildings in Ukraine's capital, Kyiv. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated that the drones struck a private house and a non-residential building, injuring at least three people. Images from the Ukrainian State Emergency Service showed teams attempting to extinguish fires after sunrise. The attack reportedly ignited three warehouses across the city. This attack occurred amid broader assaults on various regions of Ukraine. The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces stated that Russia launched 88 drones targeting locations across the country, of which 56 were shot down. According to Mayor Ihor Terekhov, one person was lightly injured in Kharkiv, located in the northeast, due to attacks from Russian drones. The operational-strategic group Khortytsia, affiliated with the Ukrainian Ground Forces, reported on Saturday that Russian forces regrouped to prepare for a new military assault in the Kharkiv region. The group noted that, although no attack actions had been carried out so far, Russian troops were renewing their forces to continue operations. European countries pledged an additional 21 billion euros in funding on Friday to help Ukraine continue its fight against Russia's invasion. At the same time, U.S. Ambassador Steve Witkoff held discussions to continue peace talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Russian state news agency RIA Novosti reported that Witkoff's meeting with Putin lasted four and a half hours and that the Kremlin stated the two discussed "directions" for ending the war, but did not provide any details. As the war enters its fourth year, Russian forces maintain dominance in Ukraine. Ukraine accepted the U.S. ceasefire proposal, but Russia effectively blocked it by imposing broad conditions. European governments accused Putin of dragging his feet. Russia's delay in accepting Washington's proposal disappointed Trump and raised doubts about whether Putin truly wanted to stop the conflicts and end the war that has been ongoing for more than three years.
