Dollar/TL exceeded 17
The rise in the USD/TRY exchange rate continues to increase. The price reached 17.10 in the last hour, reaching its highest level since December 20. Following President Erdoğan's statement that "We will not increase interest rates, on the contrary, we will decrease them," it was thought that the Central Bank would keep interest rates constant at this month's meeting at best, while expectations of a rate cut have also begun to emerge. The extremely high gap between inflation and interest rates continues to put pressure on the TL. The exchange rate, which rose by more than 10% in May, rose by 4% in the first week of June and reached a 27% increase rate as of the beginning of the year. With the rise in US bond interest rates on the global side and the strengthening of the dollar, attacks on the exchange rate are also accelerating.
