Netflix starts charging for account sharing in the US
Global internet television network Netflix has announced that users in the US will be able to share their account information with others for $8 per month. Netflix Inc., which is preparing to take its crackdown on account sharing to the US, has announced its new fee schedule for US customers who share passwords. Accordingly, Netflix announced that users will be able to share their account information for an additional $8 per month. On the other hand, it was stated that these options will only be available to customers using its standard and premium plans. The company announced that a total of 100 million households worldwide, including 30 million users in the US and Canada, use a Netflix account without paying. The crackdown on password sharing, which began in Latin America last year, has been interpreted as an important part of Netflix's strategy to generate more revenue from users.
