Akif Çağatay Kılıç has been appointed as Chief Advisor to the President. Kılıç was given the title of "Ambassador." Presidential appointment decisions are published in the Official Gazette. According to the decision published with the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in accordance with articles 12 and 13 of the Presidential Decree on the Presidential Organization, Akif Çağatay Kılıç has been appointed as Chief Advisor to the President. Kılıç's CV Born in 1976 in Siegen, Germany, Akif Çağatay Kılıç completed his high school education in Istanbul after his family returned to Turkey and completed his undergraduate education in the department of "Politics and European Studies" at the University of Hertfordshire in England. Kılıç, who studied Political Science and European Economy, worked at Sabancı Holding Universal Trading UK Company in England for 3 years. In 2003, Kılıç continued his career as a consultant at the Justice and Development Party Headquarters. During this period, he assumed roles such as Prime Ministry Counselor and Deputy Chief of Private Secretary, and served on President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s staff for many years during his prime ministry. During this period, while he also assumed the role of deputy chief of private secretary, Kılıç served as Erdoğan’s translator on most of his trips abroad. Akif Çağatay Kılıç became a member of parliament as a result of the elections on June 12 and began his duties in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. He served as the Minister of Youth and Sports in the 61st, 62nd, 63rd, 64th and 65th Governments of the Republic of Turkey between December 26, 2013 and July 19, 2017. Elected as a Member of Parliament for Istanbul in the elections on June 24, 2018, Kılıç served as the President of the PACE Turkish Delegation in his first term and the President of the TBMM Foreign Affairs Commission in his second term.
