Eren: We are starting to discuss work contracts with contractors in Saudi Arabia
Turkish Contractors Association (TMB) President Erdal Eren made a statement regarding potential projects to be undertaken by Turkish companies in Saudi Arabia, saying, “We want to get a share of Saudi Arabia’s $3 trillion projects. I hope that we will be able to negotiate business contracts with Saudi Arabia in the second half of the year.” Turkish Contractors Association President Erdal Eren made evaluations regarding Turkish contracting companies’ overseas contracting revenues and potential projects to be undertaken in Saudi Arabia. Eren stated that the number of completed projects in 133 countries has exceeded $480 billion. Eren said, “Following the Russia-Ukraine war, our projects in Ukraine regressed to $600 million as of June 2023,” and added that all projects and tenders in Ukraine have come to a halt. On the other hand, Eren reminded that a delegation from Saudi Aramco came to Ankara and stated that they held a meeting for two days. Eren, who said that Saudi Aramco alone has an investment volume of $50 billion per year, said, “They said that they could not get the same efficiency from their work with Far Eastern countries as they did with our colleagues.” In his assessment of the projects that Turkish companies will carry out in Saudi Arabia, Eren stated that they want to get a share of Saudi Arabia’s $3 trillion projects. “I hope that we will be able to negotiate business contracts with Saudi Arabia in the second half of the year,” Eren said that there are also plans to carry out projects in Africa and Iraq with UAE financing.
