Tokyo inflation beats expectations
Tokyo's Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose to 3.2 percent in July. The consumer price index in Tokyo, Japan's capital, rose 3.2 percent year-on-year in July, slightly above the 3.1 percent recorded in the previous month. Core inflation in Tokyo, which excludes fresh food prices, came in at 3 percent, slightly above the 2.9 percent expected by surveyed economies but below June's 3.2 percent figure.
