IMF: No financial support request from Turkey
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) announced that its technical team will pay a routine visit to Turkey at the end of September as part of preparations for the Article 4 consultation, and that it has not received any requests for financial support from Turkey. The IMF made a statement regarding the technical team’s visit to Turkey. The statement read, “The IMF technical team will pay a routine visit to Turkey at the end of September to hold meetings with Turkish officials in preparation for the Article 4 consultation.” The statement, which stated that the visit would also provide an opportunity to exchange views on recent economic developments, the economic outlook, and macrofinancial policies, said, “The IMF has not received any indication from Turkish officials that they intend to request financial assistance from the Fund.”
