Japan's trade deficit narrows in August
Japan’s trade deficit in August was 930.5 billion yen. Japan’s trade deficit fell 66.7 percent to 930.5 billion yen ($6.3 billion) in August, down from a deficit of 2.79 trillion yen last year. But the trade deficit was still larger than the 659.1 billion yen that economists had expected. The world’s third-largest economy saw both imports and exports fall 17.8 percent and 0.8 percent year-on-year, respectively, below economists’ expectations of a 19.4 percent decline in imports and 1.7 percent in exports.
