Asian stock markets rise

South Korea’s Kospi rose 0.78 percent and the Kosdaq gained 1.41 percent; the country’s consumer price index for September rose 3.7 percent from a year earlier, beating economists’ forecast for a 3.4 percent increase. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.19 percent. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index was trading above the flat line in the first hour of trading, while the Hang Seng Tech Index rose. Chinese markets will remain closed for a week-long holiday. In the U.S., all three major indices closed in the green. The Dow Jones Industrial Average snapped a three-day losing streak, closing up 0.39 percent at 33,129.55. The S&P 500 gained 0.81 percent to close at 4,263.75. Similarly, the Nasdaq gained 1.35 percent to close at 13,236.01.
