Samsung Electronics expects $100 million in revenue from chip packaging
South Korea-based Samsung Electronics said it expects to generate $100 million or more in sales from its advanced chip packaging business. Samsung Electronics co-CEO Kye-Hyun Kyung made the announcement at Samsung's annual general shareholders' meeting on Wednesday. Samsung Electronics expects to generate $100 million or more in revenue from its advanced chip packaging business this year, Kyung said, adding that Samsung expects the results of its investment to come out "in earnest" from the second half of this year. Samsung established advanced chip packaging as a business unit last year. Meanwhile, the company announced in December 2023 that it will invest about 40 billion yen over five years to establish an advanced chip packaging research facility.
