Inflation has not yet peaked, according to Goldman

Goldman Sachs stated that the general view in the market that inflation has peaked globally is an optimistic view. Although there are signs of easing in global inflation, some experts do not believe that inflation has peaked. According to Peter Oppenheimer, Global Equity Strategist at Goldman Sachs, market optimism that inflation has peaked is a misconception. Oppenheimer said that this optimism ignores a potential jump in energy costs in 2023. According to Oppenheimer, increasing Chinese demand and continuing supply-demand pressures could lead to price increases in energy and other commodities in 2023. Oppenheimer made the assessment that “We think it is premature to be optimistic that inflation has peaked and that interest rates will be cut next year.”
