Number of Drilling Rigs in the U.S. Remains Steady for Two Consecutive Weeks

Forex - The number of active oil and natural gas drilling rigs in the United States remained unchanged for the second consecutive week. According to a report shared via email by Baker Hughes, the total number of oil and natural gas drilling rigs, which was 589 in the previous two weeks, remained the same in the week ending December 20. The rig count is 31 units lower compared to the same period last year. The number of oil drilling rigs increased by 1 to 483, while the number of natural gas drilling rigs decreased by 1 to 103, and the number of rigs operating on both products remained unchanged at 4. Among the rigs that determine future forecasts for oil production, 573 were located onshore, 14 offshore, and 2 in inland waters.

-Canada and the Gulf of Mexico- In the same week, the rig count in Canada decreased by 25, bringing the total to 166. In the country, the number of oil rigs fell by 10 to 110, while the number of natural gas rigs decreased by 15 to 56. In Mexico, the rig count remained unchanged at 12, while the total across North America decreased by 25 to 755.
